Honoring Jacob Langbein's Legacy
About the Foundation
The Jacob Langbein Memorial Foundation was created to support mental health training for students and staff in marching bands in the Ohio/Indiana area.
Jacob was a 2017 graduate of William Mason High School in Mason, OH, and a part of the Mason High School marching band. The band was a bright spot in Jake’s life at a time when he was dealing with mental health struggles and depression. Jake died by suicide in May of 2021, and at that time the Langbein family started working with the Mason bands to provide mental health training yearly for students and staff through various organizations and modules (ie: 1n5.org and Hilinski’s Hope). Funds raised in Jake’s memory also helped send a school psychologist with the band to Pasadena for the Rose Parade for extra mental health support during the busy trip.
Over the last five years, we have seen positive results from the training provided to band students and staff, and we have received feedback from directors, parents, and school psychologists about how important and beneficial this training is for students and staff. Every student is important, and we all need to do our part to “stop the stigma”.
We would love for anyone who can to donate $22 in memory of Jake, who is forever 22. Donations can be made on the website at www.jlangbeinfoundation.org
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law."
